Plugin Tool

The Plugin Tool enables you to edit a plugin on your computer and run it on a development application server.

It’s a cross-platform tool, written in JRuby and running on the standard Java runtime. You can install it on Windows or UNIX-like OSes such as Mac OS X and Linux.

The Plugin Tool creates template plugins to get you started, and uploads plugins in development to a test server. When running, it monitors changes to files and uploads them automatically as you work.

You need to be comfortable working in the command line. The current version requires a little bit of setup work, but afterwards, you just need to run a command and leave it running while you write code in your text editor.
